Sep 10 - The Hierophant (images)

The Hierophant Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

This tradition is our mission

The Hierophant usually means tradition, structure and rules. He's the Way Things Are Done, the person who knows All The Rules and can tell you how things work - not cruelly, just because This Is How We Do It. Sometimes this is a good thing - the person who trains you in your new job, the desk worker who knows all the shortcuts in the paperwork. Sometimes it's someone stricter. But you can count on this person to teach you what you need to know. Across decks, this is shown in a few different ways.

1. Lieselle's Eternal Tarot — Traditional and intricate

Liselle's deck uses a black and white design to draw the eye to the details that matter. The artwork features a man in the traditional ecclesiastical outfit with an altar beneath him.

Hierophant Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Tradition, ritual, authority, established wisdom
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Solemn, formal, contemplative
✨ Unique: The traditional ecclesiastical imagery puts the Hierophant firmly in his role as keeper of ritual and inherited knowledge.

2. Supernatural Tarot — Fandom deck

Billie, one of the Reapers the Winchesters meet during their adventures, believes strongly in rules and applying them fairly. She dislikes the Winchesters because their constant dying and resurrecting disrupts her work and confuses things behind the scenes of the afterlife.

Hierophant Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Rules, order, fairness, consequences
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Stern, pragmatic, uncompromising
✨ Unique: Billie applies the Hierophant's love of structure to the rules of death itself - and the Winchesters are possibly the worst people in existence to ask to follow them.

3. Everyday Witch — Modern and bright

The Hierophant in this card is shown as a teacher leading a yoga or meditation class, guiding her students and helping them achieve their best. This is a side of the card that we don't always see.

Hierophant Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Teaching, guidance, learning, self-improvement
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Calm, supportive, encouraging
✨ Unique: Instead of a stern religious authority, this Hierophant is a teacher helping others learn and grow, showing the nurturing side of tradition and shared knowledge.

Reflection:
Across decks, the Hierophant invites reflection on traditions, guidance, and communal wisdom. He's the keeper of institutional knowledge and understanding. Where in your life could you use someone who knows how things are done?

Jul 12 - 4 of Wands (Images)

Four of Wands Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place.

The Four of Wands is tarot’s ultimate sigh of relief. After the careful planning of the Two and the hopeful waiting of the Three, this is the moment when we can finally pause, look around, and celebrate how far we’ve come.

Traditionally, this card shows a joyful homecoming beneath a decorated archway, but different decks remind us that celebration and belonging can take many forms..

1. Everyday Witch Tarot — Urban Joy & Chosen Family
This deck replaces the traditional figures with a group of friends gathered at a cafe. This isn’t a grand ceremony - it’s the everyday joy of finding your people and creating a place where you belong.

Four of Wands Vibes:
  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Chosen family, modern milestones, city sanctuary, shared joy.
  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Grounded, inclusive, deeply warm, and unapologetically festive.
  • ✨ Unique: Shifts the traditional "homecoming" from a grand, royal castle to an accessible, relatable urban setting.

2. The Light Seer's Tarot — Radiant Connection & Free Spirits
Chris-Anne’s version bursts with energy, showing friends dancing beneath a canopy supported by four flaming wands. Here, home is not a building - it’s the feeling of being surrounded by people who let you be yourself.

Four of Wands Vibes:
  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Community, freedom, celebration, belonging, shared joy
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Joyful, exuberant, warm, liberating
✨ Unique: By removing the idea of a physical home, this version shows that stability can come from the people who surround us. The “four walls” become the circle of people who make us feel safe.

3. Mindscapes Tarot — Atmospheric Harmony & Natural Sanctuary
John A. Rice removes people entirely and focuses on four fruiting orchard trees. The ladder and wheelbarrow show the care that created this abundance, but the moment itself is peaceful and still.

[Card Name] Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Peace, harmony, growth, appreciation, quiet achievement
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Serene, contemplative, content
✨ Unique: This version finds celebration in the landscape itself. The absence of people reminds us that milestones don't always need an audience - sometimes peace is the reward.

Reflection:

Across decks, the Four of Wands reminds us that joy can look very different. It might be laughing with friends, dancing under the stars, or enjoying a quiet moment surrounded by what you’ve built.

What does celebration look like for you?

Jun 22 - The Sun (Images)

The Sun Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

There's a light and it's shining upon you; I see you glow.

The Sun is one of the happiest cards in the deck, showing a moment of pure unfettered joy. In RWS tradition there's usually sunflowers, bright light and a child playing happily. More modern decks keep some of those elements, but they may change it up.

1. Everyday Witch — Modern and friendly

This deck shows us three friends celebrating in a field of sunflowers. Even their cats are joining in! They all clearly have lives and other responsibilities, but right now all that matters is their shared joy.

The Sun Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Joy, friendship, shared happiness, celebration of the present
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Warm, playful, carefree
✨ Unique: Happiness here is communal rather than solitary - joy is something amplified by sharing it with others (and even the cats join in).

2. Cat Tarot — Feline satisfaction

This cat is blissed out, laying on its back among flowers with the sun shining down. It's not worried about anything else; right now, the sun is shining and life is good.

The Sun Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Contentment, peace, simple joy, being present
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Blissful, relaxed, safe
✨ Unique: Strips the Sun down to pure sensory happiness - nothing to do, nothing to prove, just existing in warmth.

3. Stained Glass Tarot — Solemn and beautiful

This more serious version of the card shows the sun in a stained glass format, reminding us that taking a moment to appreciate beauty is within this card as well. Happiness can be found in unexpected places.

The Sun Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Clarity, reverence, quiet joy, appreciation
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Reflective, luminous, peaceful
✨ Unique: Reframes the Sun as something sacred and contemplative - joy not as noise, but as stillness and awe.

Reflection:

Across decks, the Sun brings optimism, success, and the joy of clarity. Where in your life can you see beauty today?

June 9 - Temperance (Images)

Temperance Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

I've been patient and steadfast and steady

Temperance is one of those tricky cards that looks like it means one thing, but as you dig deeper it reveals layers. Traditionally it shows an angel pouring water from one cup to another, but deck artists like to play with that image.

1. Transient Light Tarot — Minimalist but evocative

With triangles in balance to create a star and cups creating yin and yang streams of energy, this image leans heavily on the balance aspect of the card. The cups perfectly mirror each other as they pour out their contents.

Temperance Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Balance, harmony, integration, flow
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Peaceful, centred, meditative
✨ Unique: By stripping away figures and scenery, the deck focuses entirely on the act of balancing opposites. The mirrored cups and flowing energy make Temperance feel less like a person and more like a universal principle.

2. Patch Tarot — Bright and deep

Patch has worked hard to mirror every aspect of its image. The lion below and the eagle (phoenix?) above; the tree on one side and the grass below; the red cup pouring water and the blue cup pouring fire. Everything has its opposite to keep it in balance.

Temperance Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Duality, equilibrium, transformation, interconnectedness
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Thoughtful, mystical, deeply balanced

✨ Unique: Every element has a counterpart, emphasising that harmony isn't about choosing one side over another. Fire and water, earth and sky, predator and messenger all coexist, creating something stronger together than apart.

3. Everyday Witch — Modern and simple

This witch is the epitome of balance - this card has helped many readers grasp the meaning. In her yoga pose she is balanced and calm herself; but on one side of her there are treats and sweets, and on the other healthy food. She's sneaking a peek through one eye and has the other tightly closed. Opposite but equal in all aspects.

Temperance Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Moderation, self-control, healthy balance, everyday choices
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Light-hearted, practical, reassuring
✨ Unique: This version brings Temperance down to earth. Rather than cosmic forces or spiritual symbolism, it reminds us that balance is often found in ordinary decisions and small acts of restraint.

Reflection:
Across decks, Temperance shows us how blending opposites creates harmony in life. This isn't always an easy card to live up to, but the effort is worth it. What part of your life could use some balance today?

May 26 - Two of Pentacles (Images)

Two of Pentacles Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

A tightrope walker in a three ring circus

The Two of Pentacles speaks to balance and care, to making sure that you're not overdoing any part of life. It often shows up when you're leaning too heavily to one side or the other as a reminder to get back to balance. In many decks this is literally a figure balancing two large coins, often a jester, but some cards change the art to show other aspects of the card.

1. Everyday Witch Tarot — Funny and real

This witch is so well balanced that they've made things even harder by standing on a seesaw - but they're unaware that the cat is about to jump on one side, upsetting things! It's a reminder that even when we feel in control, things may change at any moment.

Two of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes:
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone:
    ✨ Unique:

2. Animystic Tarot — Neon landscapes

These trees have grown in exactly the same way, branched at exactly the same points, reached exactly the same height. It's impressive, but it can't last forever. One will have to outstrip the other eventually.

Two of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes:
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone:
    ✨ Unique:

3. Soul Cats Tarot — Magical felines

This magical cat is enjoying a rest in a hammock, under its protective pentacles. If that cat manages to knock one off, though, the hammock may not be so comfortable any more.

Two of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes:
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone:
    ✨ Unique:

Reflection:
Across decks, the Two of Pentacles reminds us of the importance of adaptability and juggling responsibilities. No matter how careful we are, nothing stays the same forever; at some point we'll put down our load. What are you being called to balance today?

May 12 - Four of Cups (Images)

Four of Cups Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Same old days, same old scene

The Four of Cups is one of those cards that's hard to describe. In one sense it's about boredom, but in another it's about not missing the obvious because we're too busy complaining. Across decks, this is shown in different ways.

1. Lieselle's Eternal Tarot — Mantras for learning

Lieselle's is a pip deck featuring mantras to help beginners grasp the meanings. In this case, it reads 'Snap out of it', focusing on the distracted side of the card.

Four of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Apathy, distraction, emotional stagnation, self-awareness
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Blunt, reflective, slightly frustrated
✨ Unique: The mantra cuts straight through the fog of the card. Rather than focusing on sadness or boredom, it frames the Four of Cups as a moment of recognition - the realisation that we may be the ones keeping ourselves stuck.

2. Everyday Witch — Bright and cheerful

The Everyday Witch is rooted in normal life. Here the man is ignoring not only the fourth cup, but the cat about to attack his fish - so focused on his three cups he's missing everything else around him.

Four of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Tunnel vision, missed opportunities, emotional distraction, everyday disconnection
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Humorous, cosy, gently cautionary
✨ Unique: The cat adds a layer of comedy, but also urgency. The witch is so focused on what’s already in front of him that he misses both the offered cup and the chaos about to unfold nearby. It captures how the Four of Cups can make us overlook what matters.

3. Sugar Skull Tarot — Western flair

This deck uses western imagery to illustrate the cups. This cowboy can't see the fourth cup unless he gets up and moves - he'll have to take some action if he wants to complete his collection.

Four of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Dissatisfaction, inertia, longing for more, needing action
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Restless, dusty, quietly determined

✨ Unique: This version emphasises movement - or the lack of it. The fourth cup isn’t hidden or unreachable, but the cowboy has to actively change position to see it. The card becomes less about mood and more about the effort needed to shift perspective.

Reflection:

Across decks, the Four of Cups reminds us to evaluate opportunities and emotional fulfilment. Sometimes we become so focused on what’s missing - or what’s already in front of us - that we fail to notice what else is being offered.

What are you too focused on today? And what could you be looking at instead?

Knight of Pentacles (Images)

Knight of Pentacles Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Steady as the beating drum.

The knights of the deck are messengers and warriors, but the Knight of Pentacles keeps his battles close to home. He works hard, prepared for slow gains and a long time before he sees progress. Across decks, artists have expressed this in different ways.

1. Mindscapes — Artistic view

A small room opening onto a farmyard. A fork stands against a wall, ready for work. It's a simple life, but a good one.

Knight of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Hard work, simple life
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Calm, toned down
✨ Unique: All the court cards in this deck are from the point of view of the character

2. Everyday Witch Tarot — Magic in sensible shoes

This is spellwork that doesn’t announce itself. No dramatic lightning, no glowing circles - just hands that know what needs doing and do it anyway. Cleaning, tending, maintaining, repeating. It’s not less magical for being ordinary. If anything, that’s the whole point.

Knight of Pentacles Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: discipline, upkeep, practical magic, consistency
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: warm, grounded, quietly reassuring
✨ Unique: magic isn’t separate from life here - it is the routine

3. Tarot of the Divine — Myth, but make it persistence

This knight isn’t here for glory. They’re here because someone has to stay when things get long and difficult and unromantic. The mythic framing turns endurance into something sacred: not heroic in the loud sense, but heroic in the “still here, still going” sense.

Knight of Pentacles Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: duty, loyalty, endurance, long-haul commitment
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: serious, grounded, quietly powerful
✨ Unique: folklore lens turns persistence into a kind of moral backbone

Reflection:

Across all three, the Knight of Pentacles refuses to be rushed into excitement. Whether it’s lived-in routine, quiet magical maintenance, or mythic endurance, the message stays the same: slow doesn’t mean small - it means sustainable.

So which version feels like the kind of “keep going” you’d actually trust on a bad day?

Jan 23 - Four of Pentacles (Images)

Four of Pentacles Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

I keep my secrets where I'm safe

The Four of Pentacles is often written off as 'the greedy card' but at its heart it's about fear. Fear of losing, of coming up short, of needing something you don't have. Across decks, this is described in different ways, but they're more similar than they first appear.

1. Lightseers' — Fear of shortage

In this card, a woman clutches her purse tightly as she looks from the veranda of her home to a crowded, dirty city beyond. Her money could do good there - but would it leave her short?
Four of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Fear of running short
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Worry
✨ Unique: The othila rune on her earring represents an inheritance or prosperity

2. Everyday Witch — Fear of loss

The witch in this card has gone a little too far in his fear of losing his belongings; he's placed them in a chest, in a dungeon, and stayed to sit on them for extra security. Safety has become a trap.

Four of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes:  Fear of being robbed
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: overcaution, paranoia
✨ Unique: His cat companion is eyeing that open window, either in warning or planning to make an escape.

3. Wizard's Tarot — Fear of Knowledge

A different tone in this one; the door of the library has been chained shut to keep the knowledge out of everyone's hands. People in power are often threatened by those who possess knowledge.
Four of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Knowledge is power
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Fear
✨ Unique: There's a wizard visible inside, hoarding all the knowledge for himself.

Reflection:
This card is far more than just 'the greedy one'. Across decks, it shows us that greed is a form of fear - and that's the way to get past it. Which image resonates with you today?

Jan 11 - The Chariot (images)

The Chariot Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Don't stop me now!

The Chariot is about momentum: the energy that keeps us moving toward what we want. In Rider–Waite–Smith–inspired decks, this is usually shown as a literal chariot pulled forward by opposing forces. In modern decks, the imagery may change, but the message remains the same: drive, determination, and forward motion.

1. Light Seer’s — Modern and inclusive

The Light Seer’s is one of the best-known modern decks. In this image, the figure crouched on the roof of the chariot doesn’t appear to be in control in a traditional sense - but he isn’t worried. He’s allowing fate and momentum to carry him exactly where he needs to go.

Chariot Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: movement, willpower, no hesitation
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: trusting, open
✨ Unique: Look closely - the horses aren’t attached to the carriage. This journey is powered purely by intention and will.

2. Labyrinth Tarot — Fandom fun

Anyone who’s seen Labyrinth will instantly recognise Sir Didymus, the bravest knight in the realm. Didymus never hesitates when he wants something - whether charging into danger or protecting Sarah. He simply goes.

Chariot Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: momentum, courage, heroism
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: fearless, unwavering
✨ Unique: Didymus’ “chariot” isn’t a vehicle at all - it’s Ambrosius, his loyal steed, carrying him forward without question.

3. Everyday Witch — Colourful and cute

The most contemporary of the three, this card shows a young witch on a motorbike paused at a crossroads. Whichever direction she chooses, she has the power to get herself - and her ever-present cat companion - where she wants to go.

Chariot Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: direction, self-determination, power
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: decisive, bright
✨ Unique: The road signs are black and white - a subtle nod to the traditional opposing steeds of the RWS Chariot.

Reflection

Across decks, the Chariot reminds us that progress comes from focus, commitment, and trusting our own momentum. Once we choose a direction, the path opens beneath our wheels.

Where do you need to go today?

Jan 7 - The Devil (images)

The Devil Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

God knows I want to break free!

The Devil speaks to the moments when we feel stuck - old habits, lingering fears, or temptations that look sweeter than they are. In traditional decks he appears as the horned figure of Christian lore; in modern decks he’s often softened, reframed, or even renamed, but the core idea remains: what holds us back, and how do we reclaim our power?

1. Stained Glass Tarot — Christian Beauty

The Stained Glass Tarot draws on the luminous beauty of cathedral windows, casting each card in jewel-bright colour. Here, The Devil appears in a classic form - red skin, wings, horns - framed in stained glass intensity.

The Devil Vibes:
๐Ÿ”ฅ Key themes: addiction, entrapment, fear
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: heavy, intense, claustrophobic
✨ Unique: a traditional Devil staring directly at the viewer, unblinking

2. Everyday Witch — Everyday Temptations

In the Everyday Witch Tarot, the Devil is far more approachable: a seemingly normal figure offering treats and money to two distracted young people. The cats, as always, know better - ears back, tails twitching, trying to steer their humans away.

The Devil Vibes:
๐Ÿงช Key themes: temptation, distraction, uncertainty
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: uneasy, slightly comical, gently cautionary
✨ Unique: the Devil blends in at first… until you notice the tail

3. Cosy Witch Tarot — A Brighter Reframing

This modern deck renames several cards for inclusivity and warmth. The Devil becomes The Broom, shifting focus from bondage to liberation: sweeping out outdated patterns and clearing space for something better.

The Devil Vibes:
๐ŸŒฟ Key themes: taking action, freeing yourself, reclaiming power
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: hopeful, energising, bright
✨ Unique: reframes The Devil entirely - freedom through small, intentional action

Reflection:

Across these decks, The Devil shifts from fearsome captor to sneaky tempter to a symbol of self-liberation. Each asks a different question: What binds you? What tempts you? What can you clear away today?
