Oct 14 - Tarot Characters: Nine of Pentacles

๐Ÿƒ The Nine of Pentacles is the card of security, safety and success. It might be temporary, but for at least that moment, things are right with the world. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

Anya Jenkins (Buffy)

Anya might be an ex-demon with more vengeance in her heart than we really like, but she knows how to run a business. Under her guidance the Magic Box flourishes and her friends always have the supplies they need to fight that week's demon.

9 of Pentacles Vibes:

  • Knowing how to turn hard work into material security

  • Enjoying the rewards of being good at what you do

  • Independence means being able to provide for yourself (and, if you're Anya, invoice everyone else)

Kiela (The Spellshop)

Kiela shows us that the 9 doesn't have to involve riches or power. By any measure, her island home is not rich. But Kiela creates a home for herself, finds her place and builds the life that makes her comfortable. She's happy and content with what she has.

9 of Pentacles Vibes:

  • Security doesn't have to mean wealth or status

  • Building a life that suits you can be its own kind of success

  • You can appreciate what you've created without needing it to be bigger or better

Morgana (Merlin)

The shadow side of the card. It might not last long, and she might have achieved it through betrayal and blood, but for a while Morgana sits on the throne of Camelot with everything she ever wanted within her grasp. It's an illusion built on fear and sand, but for a few moments, it holds.

9 of Pentacles Vibes:
  • Having everything you wanted doesn't necessarily mean feeling secure

  • The outward trappings of success can conceal a fragile foundation

  • Possession isn't the same as contentment

Oct 6 - Tarot Characters: Temperance

⚗️ Temperance is balance, integration, and the art of becoming whole without erasing any part of yourself.
It’s the card of bridges - between identities, cultures, truths, and futures. Temperance doesn’t rush or force harmony; it negotiates it, patiently and with care.

Here are three characters who embody Temperance as lived practice:

Topa (The Orville)

Topa’s entire arc is a Temperance story. She is born into imbalance, raised inside a rigid system that denies part of who she is, and must slowly - painfully - find her own centre. Her journey isn’t about choosing one extreme over another, but about reclaiming wholeness.

Temperance shows up here as courage, self-knowledge, and the refusal to accept a false peace.

Temperance Vibes:
• Searching for inner balance
• Integrating truth and identity
• Healing through self-recognition

Seven of Nine (Star Trek: Voyager / Picard)

Seven’s life is a long act of alchemy: learning how to be human without denying the Borg, and reclaiming individuality without rejecting her past. She is never “fixed” - instead, she becomes integrated.

Temperance reminds us that healing doesn’t mean erasing what shaped us. It means learning how to live with it - consciously.

Temperance Vibes:
• Blending identities into something new
• Balance earned through experience
• Humanity as a deliberate choice

Alonzo Solace (Earth 2)

Alonzo is Temperance in action. While Uly may be the symbolic bridge, Alonzo does the real work: listening, translating, mediating, and holding space between two cultures that don’t yet understand each other. He carries patience, diplomacy, and emotional intelligence when others can’t.

Temperance here isn’t flashy - it’s relational, ethical, and deeply human.

Temperance Vibes:
• Acting as a bridge between worlds
• Negotiation over domination
• Balance maintained through empathy

Final Thought

Temperance isn’t about shrinking yourself to fit the middle. It’s about expanding until all your contradictions can coexist. When this card appears, it asks not “What should I remove?” but “What can I bring together?”

✨ Which part of yourself is asking to be integrated, rather than corrected?

Oct 2 - Tarot Characters: The Wheel of Fortune

๐Ÿƒ The Wheel of Fortune is the agent of chaos, turning unendingly from success to failure and every point in between. It can't be reasoned with, it can't be argued with, it doesn't have opinions. It simply turns, and everyone turns with it. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

The Firefly Crew — “The Train Job”

They take what looks like a straightforward job: rob a train, hand over the goods, collect the money. But when they discover the cargo is desperately needed medicine, they can't bring themselves to deliver it to Niska. Returning it turns a simple job into a dangerous confrontation, and suddenly they're dealing with consequences they never expected.

Wheel of Fortune Vibes:

  •  Circumstances change unexpectedly
  • A simple job becomes something much bigger
  • Sometimes you have to adapt when the wheel turns beneath you

New Directions (Thriller/Heads will Roll)

The football team is losing! There's only one slim chance, and just a few seconds to deliver it. But, fortunately, they're dressed as zombies! Which they promptly weaponise, freaking out the other team until they forget they're even playing. It's a win for Our Heroes, scraped from defeat!

Wheel of Fortune Vibes

  • Unexpected circumstances can completely change your fortunes
  • What looks like a disadvantage can suddenly become an advantage
  • Sometimes you just have to recognise an opportunity when the wheel turns

  • Fat Sam (Bugsy Malone)

Fat Sam's gang has deserted him, leaving him with no men and apparently no hope. Then Bugsy persuades a group of homeless men to join the fight, and suddenly Fat Sam has an army where moments before he had none.

    Wheel of Fortune Vibes:

    • Fortune can change when you least expect it
    • Help can come from the most unlikely places
    • Sometimes the wheel turns when you've run out of options

Sep 29 - Tarot Characters: High Priestess

๐Ÿƒ The High Priestess is the keeper of secrets and forbidden knowledge. She's a teacher, a mentor, and occasionally the giver of really annoying riddles. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta (Magnum P.I.)

'Kumu' is a Hawaiian word meaning 'teacher', and Kumu absolutely embodies it on Magnum PI. Employed by Robin Masters as the cultural keeper of Robin's Nest, Kumu is the link to Hawaiian history and tradition. She wears her history proudly and shares it generously when anyone has genuine interest.

    High Priestess Vibes:

    • preserves and shares knowledge
    • understands the importance of history and tradition
    • knows when there's more to a story than first appears

Herne the Hunter (Robin of Sherwood)

This version of Herne remained mysterious throughout the series. He claimed to be a man occasionally possessed by the spirit of Herne, a forest god worshipped by the local Saxons. As a mentor, he favoured the riddle style of teaching, training both Robins to look beyond the obvious and see what was hidden. Whatever his origin, he clearly possessed esoteric knowledge beyond the understanding of ordinary men.

    High Priestess Vibes:

    • teaches by encouraging others to look beneath the surface
    • keeps knowledge that cannot easily be explained
    • embraces mystery rather than trying to resolve it

    Cat Grant (Supergirl TV series)

You're thinking 'but she's modern! She's snappy! She can't even remember people's names!' She actually can, she just doesn't bother. But Cat - in this incarnation - is sharp and insightful, seeing through secrets and dissecting personalities in one glance. She pushes people to be the best version of themselves, refusing to let them rest on their laurels. She knows what's hidden and brings it into the light.

    High Priestess Vibes:
    • sees what others miss
    • recognises potential before people see it themselves
    • knows when to reveal a secret and when to keep it

Sep 27 - Tarot characters: 7 of Cups

๐Ÿƒ The 7 of Cups shows the power and overwhelm of choices. This is the character overwhelmed, unable to choose or see what's real and what's false. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Sarah (Labyrinth)

As she nears the castle, Sarah is waylaid by the Junk Lady, who provides her with all her favourite toys and mementos. Overwhelmed by memories and objects that feel important, Sarah briefly loses sight of why she came and what she actually wants.

    7 of Cups Vibes:

    • Overwhelmed by things that feel meaningful
    • Struggles to distinguish what she wants from what she needs
    • Gets lost in possibilities that look comforting

Will Riker (Hide and Q, TNG)

In this episode Q gives Riker the power to create anything he can imagine. Riker immediately starts giving his friends what he thinks they want, but he soon realises that he doesn't actually know what they need - he can see all the possibilities, but that doesn't mean he knows which one is right.

    7 of Cups Vibes:

    • Sees endless possibilities but can't know what everyone actually needs
    • Confuses having choices with knowing what to do
    • Learns that you can't solve every problem simply by giving people what they ask for

    Dr Strange (MCU)

With the help of the Time Stone, Dr Strange can see millions of potential timelines stretching into the future. But having so many possibilities doesn't make the choice easier: he has to work out which, if any, of those futures gives him a way forward.

    7 of Cups Vibes:
    • Sees possibility multiplied into infinity
    • Learns that knowing what could happen isn't the same as knowing what will happen
    • Has to find clarity among countless possible futures

Sep 18 - Tarot Characters: Seven of Pentacles

๐Ÿƒ The 7 of Pentacles is a pause between the low point of the 5 and the high point of the 10. You're not quite at the harvest yet, but you've done enough to pause, look around and see how far you've come. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Daredevil

We're all familiar with the image. Daredevil stands in the rain, looking down over a city that never stops needing him. His war on crime is never won, but there are moments of grace where he can pause and recognise that his work has made a difference.

    7 of Pentacles Vibes:

    • recognises the progress made, even when the work isn't finished
    • takes time to appreciate the results of his efforts
    • understands that meaningful change takes time

    Tom Haverford (Parks and Rec)

Tom spends years working Get Rich Quick schemes. It's not until he commits to genuinely working through an idea, putting in the time and effort to support it, that Tom's Bistro comes to life and returns a good harvest.

    7 of Pentacles Vibes:

    • learns that worthwhile things take time to grow
    • puts sustained effort into something instead of looking for a quick return
    • knows when it's time to stop chasing the next idea and invest in the one that's working

    Daniel LaRusso (The Karate Kid)

Although he doesn't understand the thought process, Daniel spends days doing basic chores - only to learn later that he has actually been learning karate skills. Suddenly he can see that all those seemingly pointless hours have been building towards something.

    7 of Pentacles Vibes:
    • discovers that seemingly small efforts can add up to something significant
    • looks back and recognises how much he's learned
    • learns to trust the process even when he can't yet see the result

Sep 16 - Tarot Characters: Page of Swords

๐Ÿƒ The Page of Swords is clever, sharp, insightful - but not always mature enough to handle their knowledge. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Willow Rosenberg (Buffy)

Willow isn't always the Page of Swords, but starting in season two and culminating in Buffy's resurrection (spoilers, sorry!) her arc is textbook Page. She finds something new to study and throws herself into it with joy and enthusiasm; then she allows it to consume her, assuming that knowledge = ownership. She needs to learn from her mistakes as well as her victories.

    Page of Swords Vibes:

    • throws herself into learning with genuine enthusiasm
    • can mistake knowledge for wisdom
    • needs to learn that being right doesn't mean having the right to act

Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory)

Sheldon is very intelligent. That's probably the problem. He can parse a physics problem or identify a rare insect, but show him a visible emotion and he freezes up. He can't conceive of other people having different likes and opinions than he does. Sheldon is a walking example of the fact that scientific intelligence and emotional intelligence aren't the same thing at all.

    Page of Swords Vibes:

    • sees knowledge as a substitute for understanding people
    • analyses problems brilliantly but struggles with what can't be quantified
    • needs to learn that other people's feelings are information too

    Velma Dinkley (Scooby Doo)

Velma embodies the inquisitive, investigative side of the Page. When she sees a mystery, she wants to understand everything about it. She can be rigid and unbending - nothing is ever a ghost, even when it's a ghost - but her ability to question assumptions and put together small clues to reach a conclusion is second to none.

    Page of Swords Vibes:
    • asks questions until she understands what's really happening
    • notices details that other people overlook
    • trusts evidence, sometimes more than she trusts her own assumptions

Sep 15 - ๐ŸŒ™ Luna Lovegood: The Moon or Page of Swords?

(Or both - with Thestrals and quiet brilliance.)

Today’s tarot pop culture spotlight floats into the world of Harry Potter to meet Luna Lovegood - Ravenclaw dreamer, truth-seeker, and emotional lighthouse. But which Major Arcana (or court card) fits her best?

    Let’s chase the Nargles.

    ๐ŸŒ• The Moon Case

Luna is The Moon - especially in how she sees what others don’t.

    • She lives in the liminal, the intuitive, the unseen.

    • She trusts her inner world, even when others mock it.

    • She walks through grief, mystery, and emotional fog with grace.

    • Her wisdom is symbolic, not linear - she speaks in metaphors that turn out to be truths.

The Moon is about illusion, intuition, and emotional depth. Luna doesn’t just navigate it - she embodies it.

“The Moon says, ‘Not everything is visible.’ Luna says, ‘They’ve always been there. You just weren’t ready to see.’”

๐Ÿ—ก️ The Page of Swords Case

But Luna is also the Page of Swords - especially in her curiosity and clarity.

    • She’s observant, articulate, and unafraid to ask questions others avoid.

    • She’s mentally agile, always seeking knowledge - even if it’s unconventional.

    • Her honesty is piercing, but never cruel.

    • She’s the quiet rebel who sees through facades and speaks truth with gentleness.

The Page of Swords is the archetype of youthful intellect, curiosity, and emotional precision. Luna doesn’t just fit it - she redefines it.

“The Page of Swords says, ‘I see more than you think.’ Luna says, ‘You’re just as sane as I am.’”

๐Ÿƒ So… Which One Is She?

Honestly? Luna is The Moon in heart and the Page of Swords in voice. She’s the intuitive dreamer who also cuts through illusion. She’s tarot’s reminder that mystery and clarity can coexist - and that emotional intelligence doesn’t always look like logic.

    ✨ Final Thought

If you ever draw The Moon and feel lost… ask yourself: Is this Luna energy? Am I seeing something others aren’t?

And if the Page of Swords follows? You’re not confused. You’re curious.

Sep 13 - ๐Ÿ–– Spock: King of Swords or Hermit?

(Or both - with eyebrows and impeccable logic.)

Today’s tarot pop culture spotlight beams aboard the USS Enterprise to examine Commander Spock - science officer, philosopher, and emotional enigma from Star Trek. But which archetype fits him best?

    Let’s engage.

⚔️ The King of Swords Case

Spock is the King of Swords:

    • He’s rational, analytical, and emotionally disciplined.

    • He makes decisions based on logic, not impulse.

    • He’s a master of language, science, and strategic thought.

    • His authority is earned through intellect and integrity.

The King of Swords is the archetype of mental clarity, truth, and principled leadership. Spock doesn’t just embody it - he elevates it.

“The King of Swords says, ‘Let reason guide you.’ Spock says, ‘That would be… logical.’”

    ๐Ÿ•ฏ️ The Hermit Case

But Spock also carries Hermit energy:

    • He’s introspective, often emotionally isolated - even among friends.

    • He walks a path of inner discipline and philosophical inquiry.

    • His Vulcan heritage demands solitude and self-mastery.

    • He seeks truth not just in data, but in silence.

The Hermit is about wisdom earned through reflection, and Spock’s emotional journey is often solitary, subtle, and deeply symbolic.

“The Hermit says, ‘I seek truth within.’ Spock says, ‘I must meditate on this.’”

๐Ÿƒ So… Which One Is He?

Honestly? Spock is the King of Swords in command and The Hermit in conflict. He’s the voice of reason and the quiet seeker. He’s tarot’s reminder that intellect and introspection aren’t opposites - they’re allies.

    ✨ Final Thought

If you ever draw the King of Swords and feel distant… ask yourself: Is this Spock energy? Am I leading with clarity - or hiding behind it?

And if The Hermit follows? You’re not cold. You’re searching.

    Wednesday, 9 September 2026

Sep 9 - ๐Ÿ“š Rupert Giles: Hermit or Hierophant?

(Or both - with tweed and trauma.)

Today’s tarot pop culture spotlight turns to the Watcher himself - Rupert Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He’s the library, the lecture, the lullaby, and the loaded crossbow. But which Major Arcana card fits him best?

    Let’s dust off the grimoires.

    ๐Ÿ•ฏ️ The Hermit Case

Giles is The Hermit - especially in his quiet, reflective moments.

    • He’s a seeker of knowledge, often walking alone (emotionally, if not physically).

    • He carries the light of wisdom, but doesn’t always share it easily.

    • He’s withdrawn when grieving, processing, or protecting others from his own darkness.

    • His past (Ripper, anyone?) is a reminder that solitude can be both healing and haunted.

The Hermit is about introspection, guidance, and the wisdom that comes from walking through shadow. Giles doesn’t just teach - he knows, because he’s lived it.

“The Hermit says, ‘I’ve been there.’ Giles says, ‘Let me help you through it.’”

    ๐Ÿ“– The Hierophant Case

But let’s not forget - he’s also The Hierophant.

    • He’s the keeper of tradition, lore, and sacred knowledge.

    • He represents institutional wisdom (Watcher’s Council, for better or worse).

    • He teaches, mentors, and interprets the rules - even when he breaks them.

    • He’s the bridge between the mystical and the mundane.

The Hierophant is about structure, belief systems, and passing on wisdom. Giles is the dusty tome and the voice that reads between the lines.

“The Hierophant says, ‘This is how it’s always been.’ Giles says, ‘But that doesn’t mean it’s right.’”

๐Ÿƒ So… Which One Is He?

Honestly? Giles is The Hierophant by role and The Hermit by heart. He’s the reluctant authority. The teacher who questions the curriculum. He’s tarot’s reminder that wisdom isn’t just about knowing - it’s about choosing how to share it.

    ✨ Final Thought

If you ever draw The Hierophant and feel resistance… ask yourself: Is this Giles energy? Am I honouring tradition - or interrogating it?

And if The Hermit follows? You’re not alone. You’re becoming the guide.

Sep 6 - Tarot Characters: Page of Pentacles

๐Ÿƒ The Page of Pentacles is the hands-on learner who never stops. They want to learn practical things and they never give up. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Gobo Fraggle (Fraggle Rock)

Gobo might be the leader of the Fraggle Five, but he's still constantly learning and practising himself. He's curious about all levels of the world around him, loves reading his uncle's letters and delights in learning new things.

    Page of Pentacles Vibes:

    • curious about how the world works
    • learns by exploring and doing
    • never stops being a student

    True Danziger (Earth 2)

At eleven years old, True is already a mechanic and engineer. Marooned on G889 with the rest of the crew, True throws herself into learning about the wildlife on the planet - especially if it's cute. She has her setbacks, but she's genuinely devoted to learning about their new home.

    Page of Pentacles Vibes:

    • turns curiosity into practical skills
    • throws herself into learning from her surroundings
    • keeps trying when things don't work the first time

    Samantha Carter (SG1)

'But wait!' you cry, 'Sam Carter is the Swordiest Sword who ever Sworded. And she's a mature woman; she's a Queen, not a Page!' These things are true. But Courts are about stages, not strictly ages. Sam is an intelligent woman and thus she could be placed in the Queen of Swords. But she is an engineer at heart; she creates physical systems. And she is constantly learning right throughout the series; she never thinks she's past that stage. Right to the end of her onscreen career she is building machines, making incompatible systems talk to each other, and fixing problems - usually while being shot at by one side or the other.

    Page of Pentacles Vibes:
    • always ready to learn something new
    • turns knowledge into practical solutions
    • gets excited by a problem she doesn't know how to solve yet

Sep 5 - ๐Ÿง  Wanda Maximoff: Tower or High Priestess?

(Or both - with red mist and rewritten reality.)

Today’s tarot pop culture spotlight turns to the Scarlet Witch herself - Wanda Maximoff from Marvel’s WandaVision and beyond. She’s grief incarnate, power unleashed, and mystery personified. But which Major Arcana card fits her best?

    Let’s hex the archetypes.

    ๐Ÿงฑ The Tower Case

Wanda is The Tower - especially in her most explosive moments.

    • She shatters worlds - literally and emotionally.

    • Her grief dismantles reality, exposing fragile foundations.

    • She’s the collapse and the catalyst.

    • Her story is full of sudden change, painful truth, and forced transformation.

The Tower is about destruction that leads to clarity. And Wanda? She’s the storm that reveals what was broken all along.

“The Tower says, ‘This must fall.’ Wanda says, ‘I didn’t mean to - but I won’t stop.’”

    ๐ŸŒ’ The High Priestess Case

But Wanda is also The High Priestess - especially in her quiet, intuitive power.

    • She holds deep, hidden knowledge - of magic, emotion, and self.

    • She’s a keeper of secrets, a guardian of liminal space.

    • Her power is mysterious, feminine, and emotionally charged.

    • She moves between worlds - seen and unseen, real and imagined.

The High Priestess is about intuition, mystery, and emotional depth. And Wanda? She’s the veil and the voice behind it.

“The High Priestess says, ‘I know without proof.’ Wanda says, ‘This is my truth - even if it hurts.’”

๐Ÿƒ So… Which One Is She?

Honestly? Wanda is The High Priestess before the fall - and The Tower after. She’s the quiet knowing that becomes explosive transformation. She’s tarot’s reminder that suppressed emotion doesn’t stay quiet forever - and that magic without healing becomes collapse.

    ✨ Final Thought

If you ever draw The High Priestess and feel unsettled… ask yourself: Is this Wanda energy? Am I holding too much in silence?

And if The Tower follows? Let it fall. Then rebuild - with intention.

Sep 4 - Tarot Characters: The Sun

๐Ÿƒ The Sun is often called the happiest card in the deck. It's the moment when the clouds have cleared and you're allowed to simply enjoy being alive. It doesn't mean everything will be perfect forever — just that, right now, the light is shining. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

Don Lockwood (Singing in the Rain)

It might be, famously, raining, but the joy and exuberance in this sequence are all sun. Don is so happy and full of joy that he can't hold it in, singing his way down the street in pure delight.

    Sun Vibes:

    • finds joy in the simplest things
    • lets happiness spill over into everything he does
    • embraces life with complete, unselfconscious delight

That Wedding (Once Upon a Time)

There are curses and battles and problems before the wedding. There are curses and battles and problems after the wedding. But for just a little while, Emma, Hook and their friends are able to stop and celebrate, surrounded by the people they love and with nothing left to fight.

    Sun Vibes:

    • celebrates when the opportunity for joy arrives
    • finds happiness in being surrounded by loved ones
    • allows herself to enjoy the moment without worrying about what comes next

    Shawarma (The Avengers)

Loki's defeated. His army is fallen. New York has not been blown up. Tony's alive. Now the Avengers can finally pause, sit, and eat in complete silence. They're exhausted, injured and surrounded by the wreckage of the battle, but for the first time in hours, there's nothing they need to do.

    Sun Vibes:
    • knows when it's time to stop fighting and simply rest
    • finds peace in sharing an ordinary moment after an extraordinary day
    • enjoys the relief of knowing the immediate danger has passed

Sep 2 - ๐ŸŒŠ Tarot Characters: The Page of Cups (Pop Culture)

๐ŸŸ The Page of Cups is emotional openness, wonder, and the courage to meet the world with a soft heart.
This is the card of sensitivity without cynicism - curiosity, kindness, imagination, and feelings that haven’t yet learned to harden.

Here are three characters who capture the Page of Cups’ gentle magic:

    ๐ŸŒŠ Neri – Ocean Girl

Neri is almost a literal embodiment of the Page of Cups - ocean-born, emotionally attuned, and instinctively compassionate. She meets every new being with curiosity rather than fear, forming bonds across difference with remarkable ease.

Even when threatened, her first instinct is connection. The Page of Cups reminds us that empathy can be a survival skill, not a weakness.

    Page of Cups Vibes:
    • Emotional openness
    • Trusting connection over defence
    • Wonder as a way of living

๐ŸŒธ Anne Shirley – Anne of Green Gables

Anne is the Page of Cups: imaginative, emotionally expressive, deeply romantic about the world, and sometimes overwhelmed by the intensity of her own feelings. She loves fiercely, dreams vividly, and experiences life as something rich and meaningful.

Her sensitivity isn’t naive - it’s transformative. Anne shows how emotional openness can reshape not just the self, but the environment around you.

    Page of Cups Vibes:
    • Big feelings, openly expressed
    • Imagination as emotional truth
    • Finding beauty everywhere

๐Ÿฆ„ Luna Lovegood – Harry Potter

Luna’s Page of Cups energy lies in her refusal to close her heart, even after loss and ridicule. She moves through the world with gentle curiosity, emotional honesty, and a quiet trust in unseen truths.

She feels deeply, believes sincerely, and never hardens herself to fit in. That’s not weakness - that’s the Page of Cups choosing authenticity over armour.

    Page of Cups Vibes:
    • Emotional integrity
    • Gentle wisdom
    • Staying soft in a harsh world

    ✨ Final Thought:

The Page of Cups asks what might happen if you met the world with curiosity instead of caution. It doesn’t promise safety - but it does promise sincerity.

✨ Where could you afford to be a little more emotionally open today?

    Friday, 28 August 2026

Aug 28 - Tarot Characters: The Queen of Pentacles

๐Ÿƒ The Queen of Pentacles is the grounded heart of the deck. She's the person every group needs: prepared, practical and ready to turn any space into a home. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Molly Weasley (Harry Potter)

When Molly feels she doesn't have enough children around to take care of, she goes out and finds some more to look after. She shows love by feeding people, knitting jumpers and creating a safe place for them to occupy.

    Queen of Pentacles Vibes:

    • Makes everyone feel like they belong
    • Shows love through practical care
    • Turns a house into a home

    Henrietta Wilson (9-1-1)

Trained as a firefighter and paramedic, Hen is the calm side of the Queen. She assesses the problem and figures out the best way to deal with it - and helps to implement that plan. She doesn't stand back to leave her friends alone. Hen is right there with them at all times.

    Queen of Pentacles Vibes:

    • Calm in a crisis
    • Turns care into practical action
    • Makes people feel safe

Aug 27 - Tarot Characters: Four of Cups

๐Ÿƒ The Four of Cups is about apathy, boredom and being generally fed up. The world hasn't changed; we've just closed our eyes to what it's offering us. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Flynn Carson (The Librarian)

In the Curse of the Judas Chalice, Flynn is surrounded by wonder and magic on all sides - and he's completely, utterly fed up with all of it. The Library hasn't changed, but Flynn is unable to see it as he once did until he changes his thinking and learns to appreciate it once again.

    Four of Cups Vibes:

    • Takes wonder for granted
    • Lets dissatisfaction blind him to what he has
    • Rediscovers what he had been overlooking

    Walter White (Breaking Bad)

When Walter is offered a buyout from Gray Matter that would cover his medical treatment, he refuses. The offer could solve one of the problems consuming him, but accepting it would mean accepting help from people whose success and generosity he resents. His pride blinds him to the cup being offered.

    Four of Cups Vibes:

    • Rejects an offer because of how it feels, not what it provides
    • Lets resentment obscure an obvious solution
    • Cannot accept help on someone else's terms

Thorin Oakenshield (The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies)

Although he has a slight excuse, Thorin sits here for his behaviour after reclaiming the Lonely Mountain from Smaug. Sitting on a horde of gold and jewels worth more than the rest of Middle Earth combined, Thorin becomes obsessed with the one thing he doesn't have: the Arkenstone. He refuses to pay his debts or acknowledge his responsibilities to Laketown, allowing his fixation on what is missing to blind him to everything he already possesses.

    Four of Cups Vibes:
    • Focuses on what he lacks rather than what he has
    • Lets obsession obscure his responsibilities
    • Becomes unable to see the value of what is already within reach

Aug 21 - Tarot Characters: Two of Pentacles

๐Ÿƒ The Fool is the beginning of the journey - curious, chaotic, open-hearted, and unafraid of missteps. They leap first and learn later. Sometimes underestimated, their willingness to explore the unknown often leads to surprising insight and growth. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Daniel/Euphegenia (Mrs Doubtfire)

Dressing up as an elderly Scottish housekeeper is already a lot to keep track of, but when Daniel is invited to an important dinner on the same night as Euphegenia is, he decides the best solution is to run back and forth between them, changing in and out of costume each time. He's literally trying to balance both obligations, and sadly circumstances force him to fail at both, but for a little while he's the personification of this card. (See also; most of Frasier, 27 Dresses, most romcoms.)

    Two of Pentacles Vibes:

    • Keeps multiple obligations in motion
    • Adapts when circumstances change
    • Somehow keeps going when everything gets complicated

    Leslie Knope (Parks & Rec)

Leslie is a great example of this card because, unlike a lot of people, she thrives on being busy. If Leslie is only juggling four coworkers, three plans and one unreasonable order from her superiors, she'll go looking for extra plates to start spinning. She loves being busy and helping people out.

    Two of Pentacles Vibes:

    • Thrives on having several things on the go
    • Finds ways to make competing priorities work
    • Turns chaos into a schedule

    Kermit (The Muppet Show)

We all know the scene. Kermit stands backstage. Scooter tells him they're running late. Miss Piggy wants another song. Gonzo has blown up Lew Zealand. Fozzie has a new joke routine. In their box, Statler and Waldorf are booing...and Kermit keeps it all going. He rearranges acts, stays in control and keeps the Muppets balanced. The Muppets don't become less chaotic; Kermit simply finds a way to keep the chaos moving in the right direction.

    Two of Pentacles Vibes:
    • Keeps competing personalities in balance
    • Adapts without losing sight of the goal
    • Makes chaos look almost manageable

Aug 19 - Tarot Characters: Strength

๐Ÿƒ Strength is one of those cards that's often misunderstood, especially in Hollywood. It is not about physical strength; it's about inner power, wisdom, and knowing how to handle situations. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Hades and Persephone

Hades, one of the most feared of the Greek gods. Persephone, the gentle embodiment of summer and fertility. Together, the most powerful couple on Olympus. (Off Olympus. They didn't live there.) These seemingly opposite figures balance each other: Persephone brings compassion to Hades' darkness, while Hades gives Persephone a place to exercise her own power.

    Strength Vibes:

    • Power tempered by compassion
    • Complements rather than dominates
    • Finds strength in gentleness

    Moana faces Te Kรก

Moana was ready to face a demon. But when she realised what was happening she laid down her weapons, walked across the sea floor and faced Te Kรก with love and understanding. She recognised the goddess beneath the rage and returned her heart, bringing Te Fiti back to the world.

    Strength Vibes:

    • Meets anger with compassion
    • Knows when not to fight
    • Uses understanding as a form of power

    Chihiro (Spirited Away)

Trapped in a world she doesn't understand with rules she can't follow, Chihiro creates a family by being kind and determined. She tames the river dragon and returns his name, brings No-Face back to himself and makes friends with Boh by treating him firmly but fairly. She knows when to be kind and when to be strong and deploys each strategy as needed.

    Strength Vibes:
    • Kindness without weakness
    • Stands her ground when necessary
    • Brings out the best in others

Aug 18 - ๐Ÿ—ก️ Buffy Summers: Strength or The Moon?

(Or both - with a stake and a secret.)

Today’s tarot pop culture spotlight turns to the Slayer herself - Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She’s fierce, funny, and emotionally complex. But which Major Arcana card fits her best?

    Let’s sharpen the stakes.

    ๐Ÿฆ The Strength Case

    Buffy is textbook Strength:

    • She balances power with compassion.

    • She fights monsters while holding space for grief, love, and friendship.

    • Her strength isn’t just physical - it’s emotional resilience, moral courage, and the ability to keep going when everything hurts.

    • She tames inner demons as often as outer ones.

Strength is about grace under pressure, emotional endurance, and choosing kindness even when it’s hard. Buffy doesn’t just slay - she feels, and that’s her true power.

“Strength says, ‘I choose love.’ Buffy says, ‘I’m the thing that monsters fear - and I still care.’”

    ๐ŸŒ• The Moon Case

But don't be fooled. Buffy is also The Moon:

    • Buffy lives in a world of shadows, illusions, and hidden truths.

    • Her identity is layered - girl, warrior, student, symbol.

    • She navigates dreams, prophecies, and emotional fog.

    • Her journey is full of uncertainty, transformation, and confronting what’s buried.

The Moon represents mystery, intuition, and the emotional underworld. Buffy walks that path every time she questions her role, her fate, or her heart.

“The Moon says, ‘Not everything is what it seems.’ Buffy says, ‘I’m more than the prophecy.’”

๐Ÿƒ So… Which One Is She?

Honestly? Buffy is Strength in the daylight and The Moon after dark. She’s the warrior who doubts. The protector who dreams. She’s tarot’s reminder that true strength includes vulnerability - and that even heroes get lost sometimes.

    ✨ Final Thought

If you ever draw Strength and feel tired… ask yourself: Is this Buffy energy? Am I holding the line with love?

And if The Moon follows? You’re not broken. You’re becoming.

Aug 17 - Tarot Characters: Ten of Cups

๐Ÿƒ The Ten of Cups is often considered an ending, but the secret is, it doesn't have to be. It's the moment where your chosen family surrounds you and, for a moment, everything is right. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

    Serenity

By the end of the movie, it would be a stretch to say Mal and his friends have won. They got the message out and exposed the truth. But they lost two members of their family and Serenity herself, their home, has been badly damaged. But they're together - and as Mal once said, they're still flying, and while that might not be much, it's enough.

    10 of Cups Vibes:

    • Finds happiness in the people beside you
    • Keeps going after loss
    • Knows that having each other is enough

    Lilo and Stitch

"Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind." The Pelekai family and their friends choose each other and stand together against anything that comes their way.

    10 of Cups Vibes:

    • Family is chosen, not just inherited
    • Nobody gets left behind
    • Finds belonging in unexpected places

    The Golden Girls

The Golden Girls are the ultimate found family. No blood ties, no romance - just four women who chose each other. They don't always agree, they don't always get on, but they always have each others' back against the rest of the world.

    10 of Cups Vibes:
    • Builds family out of friendship
    • Makes room for differences
    • Shows up when it matters

Oct 14 - Tarot Characters: Nine of Pentacles

๐Ÿƒ The Nine of Pentacles is the card of security, safety and success. It might be temporary, but for at least that moment, things are right ...
