Oct 11 - Ace of Swords (images)

Ace of Swords Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

And at last I see the light, and it's like a fog has lifted

The Ace of Swords shows us the moment when the flash of inspiration hits; that beautiful, bright idea that makes perfect sense, before we have to start prodding at it to try and make it work. In RWS this is a hand holding a sword, but modern artists have used different images to convey the idea.

1. Gaian Tarot — Natural beauty

The Gaian deck shows us a butterfly, fresh out of its cocoon. It's ready to explore the world and see what's waiting for it.

Ace of Air Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Awakening, discovery, new perspective

  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Wonder, hope, anticipation

  • ✨ Unique: Emerging into a world of new possibilities

2. Da Vinci Tarot — History inspired

Inspired by the artwork of the great da Vinci, this Ace shows a horseman striking down a dragon or lizard. He's taking initiative and moving forward.

Ace of Swords Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Initiative, decisiveness, overcoming obstacles

  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Bold, forceful, determined

  • ✨ Unique: Turning clarity into action

3. cosy witch — cosy and gentle

The cosy witch shows a hand holding a tiny sword, while the mantra says it all - 'look at you-you're bursting with sparkly new ideas!' The hand is relaxed and calm; this isn't overwhelm, the ideas are welcome.

Ace of Swords Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Inspiration, creativity, fresh ideas

  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Light-hearted, welcoming, excited

  • ✨ Unique: Making room for ideas to arrive without being overwhelmed by them

Reflection:
Across decks, the Ace of Swords shows the power of mental clarity, fresh ideas and decisive action. Which part of your life needs some clarity today?

Oct 4 - 9 of Wands

9 of Wands Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

It's an uphill slope, but I won't lose hope

The 9 of Wands is the card of perseverance, determination and holding on through dark times. It's the card of refusing to be beaten. Across decks, artists have shown this in different ways.

1. Witch's Cat — Feline friends

The Witch's Cat deck leans into the recovery phase. These cats are sleeping around a fire, regaining strength to keep going tomorrow. They're getting ready for a new push.

9 of Wands Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Recovery, perseverance, preparation
  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Weary, peaceful, quietly determined
  • ✨ Unique: Resting isn't giving up - it's gathering strength for tomorrow

2. Cosy Witch — Meditative magic

A witch kneels in front of her altar, studying a candle. The mantra here is pitch perfect; 'it would take a hell of a lot more to defeat you.' She's not defeated; she's planning her comeback.

9 of Wands Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Resilience, inner strength, determination
  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Focused, defiant, quietly powerful
  • ✨ Unique: Turning inward to find the strength to keep fighting

3. Light Seers — Boho beauty

A young woman leans on her wand, surveying the path ahead. She's made it this far and she'll make it the rest of the way when she's ready.

9 of Wands Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Endurance, persistence, progress
  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Tired, hopeful, resolute
  • ✨ Unique: Pausing to look at how far you've come before continuing

Reflection:
Across decks, the 9 of Wands reminds us that resilience doesn't mean never getting tired. Sometimes we need to rest, regroup and find our strength before taking the next step. What helps you keep going when you're weary?

Jul 27 - Knight of Cups (Images)

Knight of Cups Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Have I told you lately that I love you?

The Knight of Cups is the classic hero of the tarot. This is the essence of pure, innocent love, the Prince Charming figure. He's the dreamer and the romantic - but he's still a knight, so he may rush in where he's not wanted!

1. Witches' Tarot — traditional and bright

Here the Knight sits a horse at the bank of a stream, intently studying the chalice in his hand. He's deciding whether or not to take the leap from his green, grassy side to whatever waits beyond.

Knight of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Romance, intuition, emotional courage, new beginnings
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Thoughtful, hopeful, gentle
✨ Unique: The stream becomes a threshold between safety and possibility. This Knight pauses to listen to his heart before moving forward.

2. Light Seer's — vibrant and boho

Light Seers gives the cards a modern, boho vibe. The Knight sits patiently waiting for you by the picnic he's set up. His horse is ready to take you for a ride. Are you ready to be swept off your feet?

Knight of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Courtship, adventure, openness, heartfelt connection
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Warm, playful, inviting
✨ Unique: Rather than arriving in shining armour, this Knight wins us over with kindness and thoughtfulness. Romance becomes an invitation, not a rescue.

3. cosy witch — soft and heartfelt

The cosy witch deck keeps the images rooted in the everyday and real world. Here the knight kneels in the sand, admiring the heart she's made out of shells, bringing some romance to her day. It's a reminder that we can all be our own knights if we choose.

Knight of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Self-love, creativity, everyday romance, emotional fulfilment
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Peaceful, tender, uplifting

✨ Unique: By turning the romance inward, this card reminds us that we don't have to wait for someone else to bring beauty into our lives.

Reflection:
Across decks, the Knight of Cups embodies the pursuit of passion and emotional quests. He reminds us that some things are worth chasing, even if we don't know where we'll end up. What could you be chasing today?

Apr 22 - High Priestess (Images)

High Priestess Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Listen to your heart

Many guidebooks will tell you the High Priestess is the guardian of secret knowledge and hidden wisdom. Which is true - but it’s only the surface of it. She’s less about holding answers and more about teaching you how to recognise them when they appear, and how to trust yourself enough to follow them.

The High Priestess doesn’t raise her voice - she waits to see if you’ll listen.

1. Wings & Crowns — Romantasy tropes in rich colours

In this deck the card becomes The Seer, sitting on a swing as she listens to those who come to her. There’s a sense that she could help - but not freely. This is intuition as something focused, deliberate, and a little guarded. You don’t just receive insight here. You seek it out, and it asks something of you in return.

High Priestess Vibes:
๐Ÿงช Key themes: attention, intention, chosen focus
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: watchful, intense, slightly distant
✨ Unique: romantasy framing turns intuition into something almost transactional - knowledge with a cost

2. Cosy Witch — Home and hearth

This version brings everything back down to earth. Curled up at home, cards in hand, this is intuition in its most familiar form - the quiet, immediate sense of knowing before you can explain why. The mantra says it plainly: trust your first instinct before you have time to talk yourself out of it.

High Priestess Vibes:
๐Ÿงช Key themes: self-trust, instinct, inner knowing
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: warm, casual, reassuring
✨ Unique: strips away the mystique and shows intuition as something you already use every day

3. Moon Dust — Ethereal and dreamy

Here, intuition stretches across time. The full cycle of the moon rests above her, suggesting something that isn’t grasped in a single moment but understood through repetition and return. This is the kind of knowing that builds slowly - the pattern you only recognise because you’ve seen it before.

High Priestess Vibes:
๐Ÿงช Key themes: cycles, pattern recognition, unfolding insight
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: calm, expansive, quietly certain
✨ Unique: shows intuition as something that develops over time rather than arriving all at once

Reflection:

Across these versions, the High Priestess isn’t offering answers so much as teaching a process. First the instinct appears, then comes the choice to trust it, and only with time does it start to make sense. Whether it’s a passing feeling, a quiet nudge, or a pattern that keeps returning, the message is the same: knowing rarely arrives fully formed - you have to notice it, listen to it, and let it unfold.

So when something in you speaks up, do you trust it straight away - or wait until it proves itself?

Seven of Pentacles (Images)

Seven of Pentacles Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Nurture, wait, become.

The Seven of Pentacles is the long pause in the middle of growth - the moment where effort has already been spent, but results are still quietly forming out of sight. It’s not passive waiting. It’s watching something take shape slowly enough that you can’t rush it, only tend it.

Across decks, this card keeps returning to the same truth: growth doesn’t announce itself while it’s happening.

1. Gaian Tarot — The forge mid-process

A female blacksmith stands at her anvil, working with steady attention rather than urgency. This is not a moment of dramatic creation - it’s repetition, adjustment, refinement. The heat is constant, but controlled. Every strike feels intentional, like she already knows this piece will take time to become what it’s meant to be.

Seven of Pentacles Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: effort, craft, patience, incremental progress
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: focused, grounded, quietly determined
✨ Unique: growth is shown as skilled labour - creation as something you return to again and again

2. Cosy Witch Tarot — The mantra of tending

A softer, more intimate reminder: nurture what you have & see how it grows and grows. This is the domestic side of the card, where effort looks like care rather than labour. Nothing here is forced. Everything is encouraged, watered, held gently over time until it becomes more than it was.

Seven of Pentacles Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: nurturing, patience, care, emotional investment
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: warm, reassuring, steady
✨ Unique: growth is treated as something relational - you don’t just build it, you tend it

3. Ukrainian Tarot — The weight of harvest

A young girl in traditional dress carries a large pumpkin or gourd with careful strength. There’s a sense of inheritance here - of things grown, gathered, and now carried forward. It’s not flashy success. It’s the quiet reality of having something to show for time passing, even if it’s still heavy, still imperfect.

Seven of Pentacles Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: harvest, responsibility, fruition, patience rewarded
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: grounded, earnest, slightly solemn
✨ Unique: growth is physical and tangible - what was nurtured now has weight in the world

Reflection:

Across all three, the Seven of Pentacles is less about waiting and more about staying engaged while things become. Whether it’s forged metal, tended growth, or carried harvest, each version insists on the same truth: nothing meaningful arrives instantly, but everything meaningful arrives eventually.

So what are you currently in the middle of building, even if it doesn’t look like much yet?

Eight of Wands Vibes:

    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Determined
✨ Unique: Set in a Hogwarts like magical college, this deck showcases the studious side of magic.

Feb 6 - Page of Swords (Images)

Page of Swords Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

I want to know - can you show me?

The Page of Swords is anyone who's trying to learn something new - mostly commonly a young person, but the Page can refer to the spirit as well as the body. This person can be a bit too sure of themselves, irritating other people by insisting on sharing their knowledge. But they can also be very helpful.

1. Mindscapes Tarot — Landscapes of the mind

All the court cards in this deck are from the point of view of the character. Here we can see the Page out exploring in a hot air balloon, learning by doing.
Page of Swords Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: He's engaged in the task, getting his hands dirty, not just studying academically.
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Involved, engaged, interested.
✨ Unique: This is the only deck I've seen that uses this point of view in its courts.

2. Universal Celtic Tarot — Magical, symbolic

The Universal Celtic deck uses rich colour and symbolism in its cards. This Page is eager to put his lessons to work and start hunting with his bird.
Page of Sword Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Practise, work, partnership
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Practical, hard working
✨ Unique: Birds are often used to symbolise swords

3. Cosy Witch Tarot — Friendly, gentle, affirming

The Cosy Witch is a friendly deck. This Page is standing at a Little Free Library, deciding what she wants to study next.
Page of Swords Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Education, making your own choices
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Open, options
✨ Unique: The mantra on this card reads 'curiosity is a type of magic'

Reflection:
Across these cards, the Pages learn by study or by doing. Whatever way you learn is valid; whether it's out in the field doing the thing, or reading studies and lessons at home, it's all learning.

Jan 7 - The Devil (images)

The Devil Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

God knows I want to break free!

The Devil speaks to the moments when we feel stuck - old habits, lingering fears, or temptations that look sweeter than they are. In traditional decks he appears as the horned figure of Christian lore; in modern decks he’s often softened, reframed, or even renamed, but the core idea remains: what holds us back, and how do we reclaim our power?

1. Stained Glass Tarot — Christian Beauty

The Stained Glass Tarot draws on the luminous beauty of cathedral windows, casting each card in jewel-bright colour. Here, The Devil appears in a classic form - red skin, wings, horns - framed in stained glass intensity.

The Devil Vibes:
๐Ÿ”ฅ Key themes: addiction, entrapment, fear
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: heavy, intense, claustrophobic
✨ Unique: a traditional Devil staring directly at the viewer, unblinking

2. Everyday Witch — Everyday Temptations

In the Everyday Witch Tarot, the Devil is far more approachable: a seemingly normal figure offering treats and money to two distracted young people. The cats, as always, know better - ears back, tails twitching, trying to steer their humans away.

The Devil Vibes:
๐Ÿงช Key themes: temptation, distraction, uncertainty
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: uneasy, slightly comical, gently cautionary
✨ Unique: the Devil blends in at first… until you notice the tail

3. Cosy Witch Tarot — A Brighter Reframing

This modern deck renames several cards for inclusivity and warmth. The Devil becomes The Broom, shifting focus from bondage to liberation: sweeping out outdated patterns and clearing space for something better.

The Devil Vibes:
๐ŸŒฟ Key themes: taking action, freeing yourself, reclaiming power
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: hopeful, energising, bright
✨ Unique: reframes The Devil entirely - freedom through small, intentional action

Reflection:

Across these decks, The Devil shifts from fearsome captor to sneaky tempter to a symbol of self-liberation. Each asks a different question: What binds you? What tempts you? What can you clear away today?
