Oct 8 - Queen of Cups (images)

Queen of Cups Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

I will try to fix you.

The Queen of Cups is one of the deck's two mothers; caring, compassionate, loving. Classic decks tend to focus more on the 'queen' aspect, but some modern ones are adapting that!

1. Light Seers — Modern and boho

This queen is literally surrounded by her element, waist deep in it. But it's not overtaking her. She's comfortable where she is.

Queen of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Emotional awareness, intuition, acceptance
  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Calm, open, grounded
  • ✨ Unique: Being completely at home in your emotional world

2. RWS — Classic depiction

This version is all about the 'queen', showing her seated on a throne and examining the cup she's holding. The water is near her, but not touching.

Queen of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Reflection, wisdom, emotional depth
  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Contemplative, thoughtful, serene
  • ✨ Unique: Looking deeply into the cup of emotion before responding

3. Patch Tarot — Bright and deep

Patch's queen is also surrounded by water, but in her case it's bubbles, each reflecting the face of someone she loves. Clutching her baby, she thinks about her family and friends.

Queen of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Nurturing, family, compassion
  • ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Loving, tender, protective
  • ✨ Unique: Carrying the people she loves with her wherever she goes

Reflection:
Across decks, the Queen of Cups shows the power of compassion and care. Which part of your life could use some compassion today?

Aug 16 - Six of Cups (Images)

Six of Cups Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

I will remember the path that led me here, through the garden of my younger years.

The 6 of Cups is the card of nostalgia, childhood innocence and remembrance. Across decks, it's usually presented as children enjoying flowers in a courtyard, but some decks present it differently.

1. RWS — Classic image

In this version a boy presents some flowers to a girl. The focus is on carefree enjoyment; they're not worrying about the future or what might happen later.

6 of Cups Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Childhood, innocence, generosity, nostalgia
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Gentle, sweet, carefree

✨ Unique: The simplicity of the scene keeps the focus on uncomplicated childhood joy and the pleasure of sharing it.

2. Transient Light — Minimalist fun

The Transient Light cuts out all the details to focus on the meaning. In the Six of Vessels, six trunks open to reveal clocks, photos and jewelry - the remains of a life well lived.

Six of Vessels Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Memory, experience, the past, treasured moments
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Reflective, wistful, quietly joyful
✨ Unique: Instead of depicting childhood itself, the open trunks suggest a lifetime of memories packed away for us to revisit.

3. Gaian Tarot — Natural magic

In the Gaian Tarot nature is celebrated. The Six of Water shows a group of friends playing in a lake, capturing the spirit of their youth. Notably there are only five of them - the sixth figure is a seal swimming by, emphasizing the connection to nature.

Six of Water Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Friendship, play, connection, belonging
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Joyful, carefree, exuberant
✨ Unique: The seal becomes part of the group, reminding us that playfulness and connection aren't exclusively human experiences.

Reflection:
Across decks, the 6 of Cups encourages remembering joy and reconnecting with childhood joys. What part of your life could do with some joy today?

Mar 29 - Page of Pentacles (Images)

Page of Pentacles Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

Nobody learns without gettin' it wrong

The Page of Pentacles is one of the students of the deck. Pentacles are willing to put in the time and learn from their mistakes. Decks show this dedication in different ways.

1. RWS — Classic and well known

In the RWS deck, the Page is entranced by his Pentacle, learning every detail of it. He's utterly absorbed by this task.

Page of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Absorption, concentration
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Determination
✨ Unique: The RWS is the basis for many modern decks.

2. Witch's Cat — Deeper than it looks

This Page is learning by doing, practising with his cauldron. He has a recipe, but he'll learn more by experimenting with his herbs.

Page of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Learning, experimenting
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Cheerful, excited
✨ Unique: This deck looks childish, but there's a lot of depth in the illustrations.

3. Light Seer's — Colourful and inclusive

Like the RWS, this Page is studying her Pentacle closely. But she's also testing it - what happens if I stand on one leg like this? How can I manifest what I want?

Page of Pentacles Vibes:

  • ๐Ÿงช Key themes: Studying, experimenting
    ๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: Balance, enjoyment
✨ Unique: Light Seer's is modern, inclusive and gentle.

Reflection:
The Page of Pentacles is ready to start studying, to start creating something real out of nothing. What are you being called to create?

Jan 21 - Death (images)

Death Across Decks ๐ŸŽด✨

You're on the other side of the storm now

Death isn’t about endings alone - it’s transformation, release, and the clearing away of what no longer serves. Across decks, this card ranges from tender and reassuring to stark and unavoidable to quietly mystical. Each version reminds us that change, however daunting, is part of living.

Here are three striking interpretations.

1. Rider–Waite–Smith — The classic

The skeletal rider on a white horse, carrying a black banner marked with a white rose, is the archetype of transformation. Death here is both final and purposeful: the old must fall so something new can emerge. Stark and symbolic, this image acts as an anchor point for nearly every Death card that follows.

Death Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: inevitability, equality, transformation
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: even-handed, resolute
✨ Unique: Death has already passed kings and bishops, yet pauses before the child - reminding us that change touches everyone differently.

2. Kids’ Tarot — Gentle passing

This card shows a ghostly dog curled beside its owner in bed, presenting Death as comfort, companionship, and peaceful release. Instead of fear, the emphasis is on care and continuity. It’s a tender interpretation, especially suited to introducing younger readers to profound themes with softness rather than shock.

Death Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: change, transition, continuity
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: tender, reassuring
✨ Unique: Death appears as the presence of loved ones remembered - changed, but not gone.

3. Witch’s Cat — Mystical Cycle

A cat surrounded by the spirits of its past lives reflects Death as part of an ongoing, magical cycle. The emphasis is on memory, connection, and the unseen threads that bind one life to the next. Nothing truly disappears; it simply transforms.

Death Vibes:

๐Ÿงช Key themes: remembrance, cycles, endurance
๐ŸŽจ Emotional tone: hopeful, reflective
✨ Unique: What has ended still offers strength - through memory, wisdom, and love.

Reflection: Death is never just one thing. It can be gentle or frightening, intimate or universal, final or quietly hopeful. Each deck brings its own voice to the truth that transformation is unavoidable - and often necessary.
