Sep 27 - Tarot characters: 7 of Cups

🃏 The 7 of Cups shows the power and overwhelm of choices. This is the character overwhelmed, unable to choose or see what's real and what's false. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

---

Sarah (Labyrinth)

As she nears the castle, Sarah is waylaid by the Junk Lady, who provides her with all her favourite toys and mementos. Overwhelmed by memories and objects that feel important, Sarah briefly loses sight of why she came and what she actually wants.

7 of Cups Vibes:

• Overwhelmed by things that feel meaningful
• Struggles to distinguish what she wants from what she needs
• Gets lost in possibilities that look comforting

---

Will Riker (Hide and Q, TNG)

In this episode Q gives Riker the power to create anything he can imagine. Riker immediately starts giving his friends what he thinks they want, but he soon realises that he doesn't actually know what they need - he can see all the possibilities, but that doesn't mean he knows which one is right.

7 of Cups Vibes:

• Sees endless possibilities but can't know what everyone actually needs
• Confuses having choices with knowing what to do
• Learns that you can't solve every problem simply by giving people what they ask for

---

Dr Strange (MCU)

With the help of the Time Stone, Dr Strange can see millions of potential timelines stretching into the future. But having so many possibilities doesn't make the choice easier: he has to work out which, if any, of those futures gives him a way forward.

7 of Cups Vibes:

• Sees possibility multiplied into infinity
• Learns that knowing what could happen isn't the same as knowing what will happen
• Has to find clarity among countless possible futures
