Oct 21 - Tarot Characters: Knight of Cups

🃏 The Knight of Cups is the dreamy lover of the deck: ready to charge into danger for love, take up a quest and go to any lengths to follow his heart. Here are three characters who capture different sides of this card:

---

Christian (Moulin Rouge)

Christian is the most Knight of Cups in modern movies, falling in love with the idea of Satine, undertaking a quest to win her heart and then genuinely falling for her. He's in love with the idea of love and passion, but it hides real feelings.

Knight of Cups Vibes:

• Falls in love with the idea of love before he fully knows the person

• Turns his feelings into a grand romantic quest

• Sometimes the fantasy and the genuine emotion become impossible to separate

---

Jack Dawson (Titanic)

Jack races onto Titanic without a plan, woos Rose in a matter of days and devotes himself to her survival above all else. He loves life with his whole self and holds nothing back.

Knight of Cups Vibes:

• Follows his heart wherever it takes him

• Love can open the door to a whole new way of living

• When the stakes are high, he's willing to put someone else's safety before his own

---

Edward Cullen

On the shadow side, Edward meets Bella and immediately becomes obsessed - sorry, devoted - to her, protecting her and making all her decisions. Isn't he sweet!

Knight of Cups Vibes:

• Confuses the intensity of his feelings with the rightness of his choices

• Romantic devotion can become possessiveness

• Sometimes the fantasy of being someone's protector leaves very little room for what they actually want

Honorary mention: in Syfy's Alice, Hatter's devotion to the title character might say Knight of Cups, but his business sense is all Pentacles and his eagerness to throw himself into any fight going is all Wands. And he's quite bright, too!
